Position Title: Junior Graphic Designer
Location: The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater in Pleasant Grove, Utah
Reports to: Creative Marketing Director
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-exempt
Position Summary:
The Junior Graphic Designer at The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater supports the marketing and education team by creating high-quality visual content for both The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater and The Ruth Academy. This role is part-time (10–20 hours per week), with a combination of remote and in-office work. The designer will be responsible for producing graphics across digital and print platforms, including social media, website assets, and promotional materials. An eye for detail, creativity, and adaptability are essential, along with proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Graphic Design & Content Creation:
- Design and produce graphics for social media campaigns, website updates, and promotional emails.
- Create print-ready files for posters, flyers, playbills, and other marketing materials.
- Ensure all designs align with the brand identity and artistic vision of The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater and The Ruth Academy.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Creative Marketing Director and other team members to bring campaigns and creative concepts to life.
- Adapt designs based on feedback and collaborate to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with staff across departments to understand project needs.
Quality & Consistency:
- Maintain attention to detail in typography, layout, and overall design.
- Ensure consistency of branding across all media.
- Follow brand guidelines as outlined by the Creative Marketing Director
Project Management:
- Organize and manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines.
- Deliver digital and print assets in the correct formats and specifications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred (or current student in a design-related program).
- 1–2 years of professional or internship experience in graphic design is preferred, but strong portfolios from emerging designers will be considered.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Familiarity with Canva and other digital design tools.
- Strong eye for detail, layout, and typography.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of print preparation and file formatting.
Compensation Guidelines:
- Part-time, 10–20 hours per week
