Who can schedule a tour?
Tours are ideal for groups for as small as 2 and as large as 30 participants. We welcome private tour groups for schools, co-ops, families, clubs, government and civic groups, associations, VIP/donors, church/non-profit groups and businesses.
How long does a tour take?
Typical tours take 60 minutes, depending on the size of the group. Your guide is available to answer any questions along the way. Homeschool tours include a 30-minute introductory performing arts class and a 30-minute theater tour.
Is there a self-guided option?
No, all our tours are guided by a member of our team. It is required that all members of your group remain with your guide throughout the tour.
How do I book a free tour?
When are tours offered?
Theater tours are offered between 10 AM and 4:30 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (with exceptions). Homeschool Experience tours are offered from 11 AM - 12 PM on the 1st Monday of every month (with exceptions). Please request your tour a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. See the request form for specific date exceptions. After completing the tour request form, a member of our team will contact you to confirm your booking. Your request is not confirmed until a team member contacts you.
What areas does the tour include?
Tours cover our main theater spaces, education wing, and select backstage areas (based on current accessibility). Tours include: lobby and box office, concessions, ballroom, lounges, rehearsal studios, theater houses, stages, backstage crossovers, green rooms, education rehearsal studios, vocal studios, dressing rooms. Several of our areas are not open to the public, including trap rooms, catwalks/grids, or spaces in active rehearsal.
Are children allowed on a tour?
We welcome all ages 4+. Children under 4 years old are not allowed. Groups must maintain a minimum of 1 adult (18+) for every 10 children (ages 4-17).
Is the tour wheelchair accessible? Can you accommodate special requests?
The theater and the education wing are wheelchair accessible, and we’ll always do our best to accommodate specific needs—just let us know in the request form. Please let us know if your group would benefit from a quieter tour or alternative format.
What safety protocols or other policies do I need to know?
A safety briefing will occur before entering any backstage area. Visitors should not touch any props, costumes, or equipment. There is no photography permitted backstage or in production areas without permission of your guide. This is a working theater, so please keep voices low in backstage or performance areas, and do not interrupt rehearsals or crew members at work. Please note that sensitive areas (occupied dressing rooms, classrooms during class time) will be off-limits to tours. We ask all Homeschool Experience Tour participants to wear close-toed shoes and clothing that they can move easily in.
