Stitcher- Full Time

Reports to: Draper/Cutter, First Hand and Costume Shop Manager
Compensation: $21.00 per hour 
Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-exempt

Position Summary:  

The Ruth & Nathan Hale Theater is seeking a full-time Stitcher to work with our Costume Team. The Stitcher works under the direction of the Draper/Cutter & First Hand to assist with costume construction, and alterations & notes in the Costume Shop.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist with costume construction as directed by Draper/Cutter & First Hand
  • Assist with fabric cutting as needed
  • Help complete fitting and rehearsal notes by deadlines
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the Costume Shop Manager based on the needs of the Costume Shop

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Advanced sewing skills
  • Familiar with domestic machines; industrial a plus
  • Demonstrate ability to use commercial patterns; able to draft patterns a plus
  • Takes direction well, able to delegate
  • Experience with costume construction and theater culture a plus

Compensation Guidelines:
Position Type: Full-Time
Hours to work: 40 per week, can vary based on production needs
Nature of Compensation: Hourly
