Wig Crew (Seasonal)

Reports to: Hair and Makeup Supervisor 
Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Schedule: November 17, 2025 – December 31, 2025 
Hours: Monday through Saturday, evenings and matinee shows

Position Summary:   

The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Wig Crew members to join our production team. The Wig Crew is responsible for the maintenance, styling, and application of wigs and hairpieces for all performers. This rols requires excellent hair styling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure that each performer's appearance is consistent and meets the artistic vision of the Production. 

Responsibilities:   

Wig Preparation and Maintenance 

  • Clean and maintain wigs and hairpieces before each performance.
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on wigs to ensure they remain in excellent condition.

Application and Removal 

  • Apply and secure wigs and hairpieces on performers before each performance.
  • Remove wigs and hairpieces after each performance and ensure they are stored properly.
  • Assist performers with any wig-related issues during performances.

Collaboration and Communication 

  • Work closely with the Hair and Makeup Supervisor and designers to achieve the desired look for each character.
  • Attend technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals as required.
  • Communicate any wig-related issues or concerns to the appropriate team members. 

Performance Support 

  • Be present during all performances to provide support with wig changes and touch ups as needed.
  • Ensure all wigs are ready and prepared for quick changes during performances.
  • Assist with other hair and makeup tasks as needed. 

Safety and Hygiene 

  • Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols when handling wigs and hairpieces.
  • Ensure all wig-related tools and materials are sanitized and stored properly. 

Qualifications:  

  • Previous experience in wig styling and maintenance for theater, film, or television preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hair styling techniques and products.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle quick changes during performances.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by production schedules.
  • Physical ability to life and move wig cases and styling equipment.
