Something Rotten! is now Playing
Set in the heart of the Renaissance, Something Rotten! follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom as they try to outshine their rival…none other than the wildly popular William Shakespeare. Desperate for a hit, the Bottom brothers turn to a soothsayer who predicts that the future of theater will shockingly revolve around singing and dancing. What follows is a hilarious, high-energy journey filled with outlandish characters, toe-tapping numbers, and theatrical surprises.
At the helm of this joyful chaos is director David Morgan, whose most recent credit at The Ruth was directing Jersey Boys earlier this year.
“This show is a riot,” Morgan says. “The humor is very smart, and it celebrates the chaos of creativity in a way that feels both modern and timeless. Even if you’ve never seen a single Broadway musical, you’ll still laugh out loud,” he says. “But if you are a theater lover, you’ll catch some absolutely brilliant references that make this show a total gem.”
Something Rotten! was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical. With its witty script, unforgettable score, and show-stopping dance numbers, Something Rotten! is a joyful celebration of theater that promises a night of pure entertainment at The Ruth.
